I'm very excited to announce that I have received an Individual Fellowship Award from the Arkansas Arts Council for this year. 9 applicants are awarded each year in 3 different categories: Visual arts, performing arts, and writing. This years visual arts category was a call for "Contemporary Craft". On Monday, October 26th, I nervously presented a slideshow of my ceramic work at the awards ceremony, along with these other Arkansas talents. I, along with the 2 other visual artists--Sofia Gonzalez, fiber artist and Kerrick Hartman, metals--who were awarded this year will be exhibiting our work together at the Historic Arkansas Museum from November 10th through February 4th. Please join us on November 10th from 5-8 pm for the opening reception. My exhibited work will also be for sale if you are looking for opportunities to grab some Christmas goodies for the family or collecting some for your own home.
Thanks to the Arkansas Arts Council for offering this award each year. Logan and I plan to make some ground on our new studio with the award money I received. First plans include pouring a concrete slab for future kiln projects and to store a lot of our clay and glaze material. We'll keep you posted on the progress if you follow us on instagram and facebook.
