Logan makes handmade stamps and paddles like these to texture his pots. He carves from wood, linoleum, and clay to create patterns that reflect agriculture and farm life from his nostalgic childhood in Nebraska. His paddles decorate our messy studio too so I love having them around.
Logan studied drawing before discovering his love for pottery, so naturally, creating imagery is important for him. He tends to create primitive versions of the imagery he chooses and connects drawing, relief printmaking, and clay by making his own texture tools of pattern sketches.
